Fort Lauderdale Country Club, the oldest private country club in Broward County, helped to raise nearly $800,000 in 2019 for various charities in Broward County.

The club hosted several charity tournaments to benefit nonprofit organizations including Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation, A Prom to Remember, Broward College, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Humane Society of Broward County, Construction Angels, Construction Association of South Florida and SF Hospital and Healthcare Association on its lushly landscaped 18-Hole, Par 72 South course, a favorite among local golfers.

This past November, Fort Lauderdale Country Club celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated championship North Course with the replacement of the greens and the provision of tees between 4,800 yards and 7,100 yards, making the course more enjoyable for both men and women of all abilities.

“We are proud to be an active part of the South Florida helping these admirable nonprofits raise funds to assist those in need,” said Michael O’Brien, general manager of Fort Lauderdale Country Club. “With the recent opening of our newly renovated challenging North Course we’re looking forward to an even more active 2020 hosting nonprofit and charitable groups seeking the perfect venue for their golf tournaments.”

In the Broward County area, which has numerous golf courses, Fort Lauderdale Country Club is a select private club that offers 36-holes of manicured championship golf in a forested park-like setting as well as the finest practice facility. Visually, the Club is truly a unique oasis as fairways are lined with stately native trees and palms and is lined with colorful beds of flowers, as opposed to houses. Inside, the venue provides a variety of room and dining options, an experienced event staff and a unique “inside outside” Plantation room.

“Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is proud of our relationship with Fort Lauderdale Country Club, home of the Jeff Conine All-Star Golf Classic,” said Craig Cohen, director of sponsorship development for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Now entering our 26th year as a fundraising event to benefit theConine Clubhouse at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, we appreciate the generosity of Fort Lauderdale Country Club. Our golfers recognize the beauty of the course and the facility and the opportunity to play one of the finest courses in South Florida.”
