Food For The Poor Gala

Bragozzo Osteria Wine Bar, the Italian-themed restaurant located in Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, announced today that it will donate a silent auction prize valued at nearly $7,000 to benefit the 18th Annual Food For The Poor “Building Hope Gala” on Feb. 2 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

The in-kind donation of a dinner or lunch party for up to 75 people includes appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, and desserts from two special menus (see attached); two glasses of wine or beer, unlimited soft drinks, iced tea, and coffee for each guest; and all restaurant fees, gratuities, and taxes. With a retail value of $6,670, the winning bidder can schedule their private party as late as November 1, 2013.

“I would like to thank Bragozzo Osteria Wine Bar for exercising a kind of philanthropy that is cutting edge,” said Robin Mahfood, Food For The Poor’s CEO and president. “A gift like this has an exponential benefit for the poor. Bragozzo’s silent auction prize will build safe, permanent Food For The Poor homes for families in Jamaica. These homes will allow destitute families to live in dignity and safety. Thank you so much for what you have afforded us to do for the poor we serve.”

Senior Director of Food and Beverage Mark Sicilia pointed out that Isle management is currently positioning Bragozzo Osteria Wine Bar as a worthy destination unto itself rather than only for casino patrons. Said Rob Wyre, Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park general manager: “We’re creating awareness throughout South Florida that Chef Charlie Rios, formerly of DiSalvo’s Italian Restaurant in Plantation and Lighthouse Point, is presenting an outstanding and affordable new Bragozzo menu for 2013 paired with an expanded wine list we think worthy of the Wine Spectator Award.”

Wyre added that he plans to refurbish the Italian restaurant’s wine bar this spring to better accommodate more future wine tasting and happy hour events.

Bragozzo Osteria Wine Bar is open 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., Friday through Tuesday evenings. Reservations are recommended (954-633-6633) for Friday and Saturday nights. It is located on the casino’s second floor next to the poker room, across from Farraddays steakhouse. For further information please visit www.theislepompanopark.com.
