Florida Panthers Foundation Fourth Annual Face-Off Luncheon

Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today a new focus for the Florida Panthers Foundation on supporting those individuals and families affected by pediatric cancer. In addition, SSE has hired Foundation Executive Director Rachel Brooke to spearhead the organization’s revised focus and charitable efforts moving forward, including the Fourth Annual Face-Off Luncheon at the Coral Springs Marriott Hotel, Golf Club & Convention Center on Oct. 4, and other pillar events.
“I am excited and honored to join the Panthers organization and lead the Foundation’s efforts in supporting pediatric cancer and helping to build a better future for the children of South Florida,” Brooke said. “I’m also looking forward to our first pillar Foundation event, the Fourth Annual Face-Off Luncheon, as well as working with our Panthers players, coaches and staff to enhance our presence in the community and in supporting charitable causes.”
Last year’s Face-Off Luncheon was sold out to more than 500 guests at the Signature Grand and raised in excess of $50,000 for the Foundation. The Face-Off Luncheon features every Florida Panthers player, coach and staff member dining with Panthers fans during a high-end lunch, in addition to incredible auction items, giveaways, autograph and photo opportunities and more.

Tickets to this year’s Fourth Annual Face-Off Luncheon are available now by contacting Community Development & Foundation Coordinator Darren Perry at 954.835.7715 or by e-mail at perryd@sselive.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit pediatric cancer.  The Face-Off Luncheon is the first of three pillar events for the Panthers Foundation during the 2010-11 NHL season including the Foundation Golf Tournament in December and Bowl-A-Thon in February.

New Foundation Executive Director Rachel Brooke joins the organization from The Association Source in Boca Raton where she was the Director of Association and Meeting Services. She also gained experience as the National Event Director for SYJP, Inc. and the Director of Special Events for the Gold Coast Builders Association. She graduated from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
