FLORIDA LOTTERY AND MIAMI DOLPHINS HOLD GRAND PRIZE DRAWING AT SUN LIFE STADIUM

The Florida Lottery and Miami Dolphins will award one lucky winner a 2011 Ford® Fiesta during the Miami Dolphins versus the Buffalo Bills game halftime on Sunday.

Five hundred pairs of tickets to the game were awarded in the Dolphins Fan Experience Second Chance promotion. Ten finalists will be selected during the game to each scratch an oversized Miami DOLPHINS Scratch-Off ticket at halftime.  One winner will be awarded a 2011 Ford® Fiesta, and the nine remaining finalists will each receive cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500.

BACKGROUND:

The Florida Lottery partnered with the Miami Dolphins to offer the Dolphins Fan Experience Second Chance promotion, which allowed Lottery players and Dolphins fans the chance to win unique, experiential prizes by entering non-winning Miami DOLPHINS Scratch-Off tickets on the Lottery’s Web site. Six second chance drawings were held from August 18 to December 1.

The partnership with Florida professional football teams is the first of its kind in Florida Lottery history.  Though several U.S. lotteries have offered professional football themed Scratch-Offs in the past, Florida is the first to offer games for three professional football teams at one time.

Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $21 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
