Floating Films with Ballyhoo Media: Cajita

Meet us on Pérez Art Museum Miami’s (PAMM) beach for our Floating Films Series in collaboration with Ballyhoo Media! This month, watch PAMM collection artist and filmmaker Luis Gispert’s first feature film, “Cajita.” This screening will be the Miami premiere and will be followed by a Q&A with Luis Gispert, artist william cordova, and producer Ryan Murphy moderated by Terri Francis.
“Cajita” recently won best film at the New York Latino Film Festival. Inspired by a true story this intimate tale follows Cajita, a Cuban refugee with a murky past who fled his country by shipping himself in a crate to the US. Cajita now lives off the grid performing odd jobs for an upper-class family. After an unforeseen event forces Cajita into a chancy situation, his best friend lays out a risky plan to help free Cajita from his dangerous dilemma.
