Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is the king of high school slackering of cutting class and today is no different. This time, he enlists best friend Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck) and girlfriend Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara) in playing hooky and taking the Windy City by storm. Written and directed by John Hughes as a love letter to Chicago, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of the great teen comedies, a genre that plays on the woes, concerns, and ennui of a generation. Replete with quotable lines, a kick-ass soundtrack, and (mostly) likeable characters, it’s no wonder the film became an instant critical and commercial success, prompting even Barbara Bush to quote the film at a commencement ceremony: “Life moves pretty fast; if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Now let’s party like it’s the 80’s! Arrive by 10:30 pm and join us for a night of karaoke featuring the best tunes of the 80’s.
