FEMALE PHILANTHROPISTS ATTEND LUNCHEON, RAISE MONEY FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY’S HERBERT WERTHEIM COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

South Florida’s most prominent, best-known female philanthropists will attend a lunch and fashion event Friday at the Biltmore Hotel to raise money for student scholarships for Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM). The invitation-only event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, February 12, at the Biltmore Hotel, Alhambra Room, 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, 33134. The event is open to members of the news media.

A celebration of the new medical school’s current and future growth, the luncheon includes presentations from Dean John Rock, M.D., and Executive Associate Dean for Student Affairs Sanford Markham, M.D., as well as several medical students who benefited from scholarships. The event also includes informal modeling of local designer Victoria Lopez Castro’s spring 2010 collection.
