Get an up close and personal look at Miami City Ballet (MCB) dancers as they grace the stage on their home turf at MCB Studios in Miami Beach. February’s Open Barre series will include Flower Festival Pas de Deux, Sonatine, Don Quixote Pas de Deux and Concerto Barocco.
Open Barre affords audiences a chance to watch four dances, each as exciting as they are different, in the intimacy of a 200-seat studio theatre. Performances will take place at the Ophelia and Juan Js. Roca Center, Lynn and Louis Wolfson, II Theatre – Miami City Ballet Studios (2200 Liberty Avenue, Miami Beach).
Open Barre shows are Friday, February 26th at 7 p.m. (with an open bar reception pre-performance at 6:30 p.m.), Saturday, February 27th at 2:30 p.m. (with a pre-performance reception at 2 p.m.) and 7 p.m. (with a pre-performance reception at 6:30 p.m.). Tickets are $33 for each per performance, including the reception, or 2-program Open Barre packages are available for just $59.
Following Saturday night’s Open Barre performance, audience members are invited to Aero Bar (located within walking distance from MCB Studios at 247 23rd Street) in Miami Beach to enjoy a complimentary cocktail.
The Open Barre Dance Series is part of MCB’s “Dancer Journal” Program on Miami Beach, which showcases interesting, Company-related topics. The next Open Barre program is scheduled for Friday, April 23rd at 7 p.m. (pre-performance reception at 6:30 p.m.) and Saturday, April 24th at 2:30 p.m. (pre-performance reception 2 p.m.) and 7 p.m. (pre-performance reception at 6:30 p.m.).
