The Quinn Factor
Duncan Quinn, New York-based Menswear Designer
By Daedrian McNaughton

Menswear designer, Duncan Quinn, looked dashing wearing a tie  from his new line of silk ties, sporting gangster chic motifs.

DQ is GQ. With his strong British accent and GQ style, Duncan Quinn invited Premier Guide to have a cocktail on his croquet lawn in the F Factory located in Miami Design District.

London-born, New York-based menswear designer Duncan Quinn, known for his finely tailored suits, has set up shop in the  Moore Building, where the F Factory will remain open until Christmas. As a part of the Limited Edition Experiences, Quinn has created a pop up space with influences of his home town, London. He has brought the story of his childhood experiences across the pond, to display along with ready to wear clothing, and his bespoke collection.  DQ invites Miamians to be his special guests. As a part of the experience, they can sip on cocktails while perusing this lovely townhouse with DQ’s special games and toys.

PGM: Tell us why you are here in Miami, and a little about your space.

DQ: I was dragged down here kicking and screaming to come into the sunshine, and leave rainy New York. It was pretty easy to get me to come down here. Not too difficult to sell. It was fun for me to have such a big space to do something with, to create an experience of things that I enjoy. We have a full size croquet pitch, you can come play croquet on, Hendrix cocktails , a vintage Maserati sitting there for people to look at, a whole bunch of rare ducati motocycles, a bespoke lounge where we are making bespoke suits for people, there is also a dining room upstairs where we are going to have wine tastings, and poker games, all kinds of fun basically. We have some clothes as well obviously, given that’s what we do.

PGM: What was the idea behind this project?

DQ: The space that we’ve done here is a little bit like a townhouse that we would have, if we were back in England with all the toys we would enjoy. Hence the croquet lawn which is like a garden, the garage, the cars, and the bikes, the dining room to have the dinners in, and then there is the rest of it that has all clothes in it.

PGM: What is the price range of pieces or suits?

DQ: The t-shirts less than $100, the bespoke suits go up to $30, 000. You got a pretty big spread.

PGM: Have you been able to enjoy Miami since you’ve arrived?

DQ: I have been around here just making sure the space gets done right, and hanging out with some of our friends. There is a nice bar in the Design District called Bardot Miami, I could highly recommend.

DQ: Come and have a cocktail on the croquet lawn….

Spread the love!
