Donors Celebrate Don Giovanni Opening: Opera Stars & Patrons Mingle at After Opera Party

Georgia Jarman, Mike Eidson, and Andrew Bisantz enjoy an opening-air celebration following the opening night performance of Don Giovanni.

On Saturday, April 16, 2011, Florida Grand Opera (FGO) opened its latest production of Mozart’s beloved Don Giovanni, heralded a “terrific, imaginative new production” by South Florida Classical Review. Celebrating this resounding success, top patrons and opera stars gathered together at the After Opera Party following the performance.

Held at the Bombay Sapphire Lounge in the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, this exclusive VIP cocktail reception featured heavy hors d’oeuvres, champagne and signature cocktails as well as live music providing the ideal setting for donors and cast members to mingle. Among the evening’s highlights were remarks by FGO President and CEO Bob Heuer and the presentation of the Morgan P. and Evelyn R. Gilbert Artist Award to former FGO Young Artist Tom Corbeil for the accomplishment of returning to the company to perform the leading role of Leporello in Don Giovanni.

FGO President and CEO Bob Heuer honors former FGO Young Artist Tom Corbeil at the After Opera Party for returning to the company to sing one of the leading roles (Leperello) in Don Giovanni.

The evening was made possible thanks to generous contributions from: production sponsor Randy Gage; opening night performance sponsors Mike and Dr. Margaret Eidson; After Opera Party co-sponsor, Bruce Horten, M.D; and Opera Club sponsor Gibrartal Private Bank.
