Discover South Florida climate solutions with the ClimateReady Tech Hub

Wednesday, February 26, for a special rapid-fire LIVE@Frost Science: Making Miami Climate Ready to learn about the ClimateReady Tech Hub and its cutting-edge work from three local scientists and leaders. Led by Miami-Dade County, the ClimateReady Tech Hub was designated as a technology hub by the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) in October 2023. ClimateReady works with public, private, academic, and philanthropic partners to commercialize and deploy climate technology.

Miami-Dade County’s Chief Innovation and Economic Development Officer Francesa de Quesada Covey will introduce the ClimateReady Tech Hub. Then, Florida International University’s Dr. Bill Anderson will share how the Tech Hub is creating the next generation of clean concrete that is more resilient and less harmful to the environment. Finally, University of Miami’s Dr. Andrew Baker will discuss how scientists are creating new breeds of coral that thrive in rising temperatures and creating homes for them along Florida’s coasts.

Admission to LIVE@Frost Science: Making Miami Climate Ready is complimentary. Program will take place inside the Frost Planetarium. Refreshments and light snacks will be available for purchase prior to the event at Food@Science.
