The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show wrapped up its five-day extravaganza on Sunday, attracting boating enthusiasts and industry professionals from around the globe. Hosted at six prominent locations, including Herald Plaza and the Miami Beach Convention Center, this year’s event showcased cutting-edge marine technology and innovative vessels, solidifying its status as a must-visit destination for the boating community.
“We are thrilled to see the excitement and support from exhibitors, attendees, partners, and community leaders,” said Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows with Informa Markets.
From February 14th to 18th, guests explored over 1,000 boats, ranging from powerboats to luxurious yachts. The show featured a special appearance by the cast of the popular television series Below Deck and notable football personalities, enhancing the event’s vibrant atmosphere.
MarineMax, the world’s leading recreational boat retailer, reported strong sales, with Chief Revenue Officer Charles Cashman highlighting significant engagement with buyers. “The outstanding performance of our team underscores the excellence of this year’s event,” he noted.
The Progressive® Boat Show Experience in Pride Park added to the fun with the Nautical Ventures AquaZone and a new Pickleball Court, while educational opportunities abounded through Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center and Hook the Future’s Kids Fishing Clinics.
Innovations took center stage with the unveiling of the world’s first prototype hydrogen-combustion outboard motor by Yamaha, alongside other sustainable technologies. The show emphasized its commitment to environmental stewardship, particularly during the Propelling Our Future event, where new research on decarbonization was presented.
Notably, the inaugural Blue Startup Pitch Event, sponsored by Volvo Penta, connected the marine leisure sector with the blue economy, culminating in pitches from emerging startups like StrawFish® and Kraken Travel, who were crowned winners.
“This year’s show was a hub to see the latest next-gen marine technologies,” stated Frank Hugelmeyer, NMMA President & CEO, remarking on the event’s significant economic impact on the boating industry.
Guests marveled at superyachts like Marguerite and Victorious, highlighting the luxury offerings available. The show also continued its collaboration with Art Wynwood, showcasing over 50 galleries and celebrating the intersection of boating culture and the arts.
