DCOTA Welcomes 335 Design Professionals & Industry Insiders to Two Major Events

The Design Center of the Americas welcomed 335 design professionals and industry insiders at two major events at DCOTA this month:

  • 170 design enthusiasts attended Summer Fusion: Latin American Design Perspectives on August 9, which opened with a fascinating panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Pfaff Smith from Luxe Interiors + Design and featuring Jay Britto, a founding principal of the award-wining interior design firm Britto-Charrette; Federico Teran, the award winner owner of Fede Design USA, LLC, in Miami and Mexico; and Fernan Hernandez, the chief creative officer at Miami’s Morada Haute Furniture Boutique. Additional Summer Fusion highlights included special presentations by “landscape legend”Fernando Wong and Miami interior designers Laila Colvin, Rafael Simoes, and Fanny Haim; a raffle sponsored by JetBlue; and a delightful Happy Hour sponsored by Sherwin Williams offering tasty bites and drinks from Toro Latin Kitchen & Tequila Library.

  • Another 165 professionals attended the South Florida Tech-Design lunch and panel discussion hosted by LK Associates and DCOTA on August 16. The event title wasEnlightening Horizons: Exploring Lighting and Wellness Trends for the Future. Moderated by Adam Kaye from Home Show Management, event speakers included Aaron Severtson (LeGrand), Franco D’Ascancio (Coastal Source), Jennifer Kirkpatrick(Proluxe Lighting), Michael D. Ham (Repure) and Terry Paterson (Paterson Project Management). This informative gathering also concluded with a Happy Hour with delicious edibles from DCOTA Cay Restaurant. Afterwards,

The reaction from participating showrooms was overwhelmingly positive according to DCOTA’s Director of Marketing Federico Diaz, who organized both events.

+ Barbara Siciliano, Florida Studio Manager for GLOSTER, described Summer Fusion as “fantastic.”

+ Max Stewart, Latin America and Florida Territory Manager for Holland and Sherry praised the “impressive turnout and seamless coordination.”

+ Nicole Ciminera, Marketing Manager of DEDON, called it “amazing.”

+ Mila Molko, Business Liaison and Private Label Development for Fanny Haim Atelier, hailed DCOTA’s “support to showcase collections and the magic of design to prospective buyers.

DCOTA South Florida Tech Design:

+ Joseph Dossantos, Crestron Design Showroom Manager, said this event was a “great” opportunity to see dealers, partners and friends.

+ Seth Kaplan, President if LK Associates, commented, “The team at DCOTA provided the perfect atmosphere for our vendor partners to show off their high performance technology, lighting and wellness solutions to our dealer partners as well as members of the architecture and design community that attended.“
