The Design Center of the Americas is inviting members of the design community and industry insiders to a day of instructive events as part of their Summer Refresh Market taking place on the Dania Beach campus on Thursday, August 18 beginning at 10:30 am. Please read below for the full agenda and stay tuned as more events are scheduled.

As part of DCOTA’s Summer Refresh, SoFlo Home Project’s Alena Capra sits down with B+G Design—led by the husband-and-wife duo Brett Sugerman & Giselle Loor Sugerman—the recent recipients of the Luxe Red award. They will be joined byEilyn & Ray Jimenez of Sire Design, and Raymond Nicolas to check in at height of their Netflix series premiere for “Designing Miami.”

The Art of Curating in Real Estate Developments

Fine art can be an essential tool for uplifting beautiful spaces. Moderated byMaxence Doytier of Venice Magazine—Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator of NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, Mazen Saleh, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale, and Miami artist Jared McGriff sit down to discuss how the art of curating is integral to new real estate properties and growing culture in evolving cities.

Navigating the Art Market with Crestron & AXIOM Fine Art

Is navigating the oversaturated art market driving you mad? Do you need tips on incorporating art into design projects? Join AXIOM Fine Art Consulting’s CEORussell Glotfelty and Melanie Werner, AXIOM’s South Florida Sales Director, who’ll explain:

·     how to motivate clients to collect

·        the most important criteria to consider when purchasing a work of art

·        how to evaluate an artist’s bio

·        important criteria for accessing artwork value

·        when/how to engage an art advisor and more.

AXIOM, together with Crestron, invites designers and collectors to learn practical tips on art collecting during this informal discussion geared towards designers, new collectors and seasoned art buyers.
