DCOTA Invites Design Professionals & Design Enthusaists to FALL MARKET 2015 Thursday, Nov 12

unnamed-96DCOTA today announced that the Design Center of the Americas is inviting design professionals and enthusiasts to FALL MARKET 2015, a full day of design demonstrations and discussions featuring top industry insiders. The free event will be held this Thursday, November 12, starting at 11 am.

Around the World with Nina

Nina Campbell with Sir Peter Osborne

Nina Campbell is a leading interior designer working all over the globe for clients who value the comfort and elegance of her interiors and her sure touch with color, pattern and texture. Ms. Campbell explains how she delves into the world of detail, introducing those finishing touches which constantly change to give an interior not one life, but many, many lives as she provides inspired and original solutions for interiors.

 

This presentation will be followed by a reception at Ammon Hickson (Suite B-240).

The Art of Translation:

Turning Your Travels Into Design Inspiration

From turbans to upholstery fabrics, the signature look of Duralee designer John Robshaw tells a vivid story of worldly exploration. He will discuss his globetrotting lifestyle and its influence on his product designs, including a special look at his brand new fabric collection. Karen Marx from Elle Décor will host the Q&A with Mr. Robshaw.

 

This presentation will be followed by a reception at Duralee (Suite C-100)

Closing Keynote

Thomas Pheasant:

Inside a Designer’s Evolution

Designer Thomas Pheasant will discuss his best-selling book, Simply Serene, which highlights, through images and words, the philosophy that guides the fundamental principles that are at the heart of his work. Thomas will share the inspirations behind his creative process – how he splits his creative time between Washington, D.C. and Paris, and what new projects and opportunities are motivating him in new directions at this point in his life and career.

 

This presentation will be followed by a reception at Baker (Suite B-260).

Presenting a special CEU – Designing with Wallpaper: How to Maximize Impact and Creative Opportunities with Wallcoverings Presented byJeannette Chen, Director of Wallcovering at Fabricut Inc., this course will discuss the history of wallcoverings; technological advances of producing wallcoverings; wallcovering printing methods and commonly used terms; and the creative applications and solutions of wallpaper in interior spaces.
