 Brett Orlando has been named Managing Director of Gansevoort Miami Beach Hotel, Spa, and Residences, Miami’s most complete lifestyle resort. He brings 20 years of progressive management experience serving the boutique hospitality industry and high end luxury resorts. His history of innovation, staff development, quality management will be invaluable to Gansevoort Miami Beach.

Mr. Orlando, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University’s prestigious Hospitality Management School, developed a thorough understanding of the hotel industry through a myriad of managerial positions. He began his career at the RIHGA Royal Hotel in New York City. Spending over 13 years in Manhattan, Brett managed hotel operations and oversaw the food and beverage components of several highly acclaimed luxury boutique hotels including the Soho Grand Hotel, the Tribeca Grand Hotel, The Maritime Hotel, and the Royalton Hotel. During this time, Mr. Orlando’s knack for training top-to-bottom staff and implementing effective service procedures created seamless guest experiences in the ultra-competitive Manhattan boutique hotel landscape.

Brett then spent four years at Hotel Palomar in Washington, DC where he was responsible for the launch and management of full-service lifestyle luxury property. By tapping into unconventional revenue streams and once again elevating hospitality standards, Mr. Orlando exceeded projectedrevenues and achieved premier media visibility during the hotel’s opening.

Brett was most recently the Vice President of Operations of the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach where he opened and operated the 1504-room luxury resort. He oversaw pre-opening orientation, implementing a comprehensive training process that focused on the company brand, vision, and service experience, and played a key role in the concept and design behind the property’s 11 unique dining venues.
