Pam Ann Brings Humor to Miami
Conversation with Pam Ann
By Kristin Philippi
Pam Ann arrives in America with her hilarious new airline comedy show. This flight attendant star began her 11-city American tour in Boston and brought down the theatre with laughter. It was an entertaining show filled with clever whit, energetic dancing and humorous videos. In her glitzy flight attendant uniform, she emphasizes the inconsistencies, quirks and stereotypes of multiple airlines. Pam Ann states, “I am coming to the USA to bring the fabulousness back to flying.”
Pam Ann is the alter-ego of Australian comedienne Caroline Reid. Reid’s portrayal of the gutsy and glamorous air hostess is unique and wildly hilarious. Performances emphasize the vagaries of air travel, identifying the individual quirks of some of the biggest international airlines and their stereotypes and mixing it with a generous dose of camp, humor and fabulousness. In the vein of Dame Edna, Kathy Griffin and Chelsea Handler, Caroline Reid has developed a cult-like international following. As Pam Ann, she has toured with Cher, crewed for Elton John, and even Madonna is a huge fan, describing Pam as “cruelly funny”.
Most recently, Pam Ann starred in her own television talk show on Australia’s Foxtel channel, “The Pam Ann Show”, as well as in an advertising campaign for British Airways. She also hosted Australia’s live broadcast of Mardi Gras 2009, airing in over 2 million households.
