James Deering, Vizcaya’s owner, engaged artists to create several important works that are integral to the architecture and integrity of Vizcaya. Gain insight into the contemporary art of Deering’s time and how artists interpret the estate in their work today. Museum Curator Flaminia Gennari will lead you through early 20th-century works at Vizcaya and the current Contemporary Arts Project by Naomi Fisher.
Additional contemporary art guided tours will be offered on November 13, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. and January 15, 2012 at 3:30 p.m.
