Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center to Host 6th Annual Ribbons for the Children Event

The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC) 6th Annual Ribbons for the Children Event, which is hosted in collaboration with ArtsUnited, will be held on Friday evening, December 2, 2011,from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Museum of Art of Fort Lauderdale.  This event includes an art reception and a benefit auction that will feature the original artwork of twenty local artists who have incorporated the Red Ribbon into pieces that they have created specifically for this event.  Over the past five years, this event has succeeded in raising over $70,000 to benefit the children and the families who are served by the Center and who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.  The cost for admission is $35.00, in advance, and $50.00, at the door, and includes refreshing cocktails, scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, and lively entertainment.  Suggested attire, for the evening, is “red tie.”

“The Ribbons for the Children event is a wonderful way for the entire community to celebrate the great improvements that have been made in the medical care of children and adolescents with HIV/AIDS and to commit themselves to the continuing care and treatment of children with this disease,” said Dr. Susan Widmayer, Executive Director of CDTC.

This year’s sponsor is JM Family Enterprises.
