Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center Raises Over $17,000 at Lifesavers for Children Luncheon Presented by Holland America

The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) hosted the “Lifesavers for Children” luncheon on Saturday, October 23, 2010 on board the ms Eurodam of the Holland America Line.  The luncheon highlighted the importance of CDTC’s supporters in the lives of the children served by the Center. The event successfully raised over $17,000 for the Center and its various programs thanks to the generosity of Holland America, which sponsored the food and venue for the event. Guests enjoyed a four course lunch followed by a special performance by local musicians George and Candi Tandy accompanied by guitarist Jorge Garcia.

Generous sponsors for this event included Aetna, JM Family Enterprises, Pediatrix Medical Group, Smith Watson Parker Insurance, Richard and Nancy Edison, Juliette Lippman, Martin and Leslie Roth and Michael and Susie Perlman. Additional supporters included Maroone Ford – Fort Lauderdale, the Miami Heat, Rosen’s Prestige Tire & Auto, and the Broward Center for Performing Arts.

“This special event was a wonderful opportunity for the Center to celebrate the many supporters who have helped make a difference in the lives of our children. We are so grateful for their ongoing commitment to our mission,” said Dr. Susan Widmayer, Executive Director, CDTC.

The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 10,000 children with special health care needs in Broward County. CDTC’s mission is to promote the optimal health and well-being of children with special health care needs by providing comprehensive prevention, intervention and treatment services within a medical home environment.  CDTC is a nationally recognized “Center of Excellence,” offering a unique system of care for infants, children and youth with chronic illnesses, disabilities and developmental delays. All medical care and social services are provided regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
