Chef Adrianne’s Maximum Flavor Sizzles Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball

As the chords of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” echoed through the backstage VIP area of the American Airlines Arena, over 25 Virgin and Virgin Mobile executives came to their feet to welcome not Lady Gaga during her pre-concert soiree, but to cheer on Chef Adrianne Calvo, chef/owner of the acclaimed Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar. Calvo, who served as the hosting chef for the VIP party prior to the concert, emerged through the doors wearing stone-studded sunglasses, a leather-studded chef coat, and a wild hair-do that spoke just as loudly as her food. The smoking hot redhead, noted for her vivacious dishes and quirky personality on NBC6’s Maximum Flavor Live, cooked up a few of her dishes for Lady Gaga herself and her invitees just a couple of hours before the concert itself. She engaged the crowd with an energetic smile and her “Maximum Flavor.”

“I am so thankful to be chosen to cook for Lady Gaga. Someone pinch me,” said Calvo in a statement regarding being fished from hundreds of local Miami chefs. It is Calvo’s drive and honest-to-good talent that separates her from the rest. “My mom always tells me, if it’s not your best, it’s garbage,” the young chef states and giggles. Calvo’s mother, Maggy Calvo, a persistent role model in her career, roots for her ambitious daughter day in and day out. Whether she’s at the helm of her stove at her namesake restaurant, shooting a show, or organizing a charity event, her mother is there to wish her luck or tuck in her shirt correctly. Instilling the urge for Calvo to do her best every day was perhaps the best thing Maggy could have done for her daughter, Adrianne, because it is her best that has brought her to culinary stardom and on April 13th, 2011 to host a VIP party for one of today’s most famous pop icons. It seems that Lady Gaga and Adrianne Calvo have more than just their taste in food in common: They both are young and at the cutting edge of their careers.
