Celebrity Chefs Host World Festival Miami – Charity Event

National non-profit organization, Common Threads, will celebrate its inaugural World Festival Miami on November 1, 2010 at the Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach.

Proceeds from the event will  benefit Common Threads Miami’s after-school cooking classes for low-income children ages eight to 12 years old.
Hosted by celebrity chef and former “Top Chef: Masters” contestant, Art Smith, the event will feature a variety of celebrity chefs and local culinary superstars serving diverse dishes to South Florida’s  elite.  Participants include Michelle Bernstein, John Critchley, Samuel Gorenstein, Dean Max, Kris Wessel, Mark Zeitouni and Frank Jeannetti.

Adding to the evening’s delightfully diverse cuisine, the  event will feature a variety of international music entertainment.
Tickets for the 1st Annual World Festival Miami are $125 per person and may be purchased online at www.commothreads.org or by calling 786-238-0963.

Headquartered in Chicago, IL, and operating in Miami, Chicago, DC and LA, the mission of Common Threads is to educate children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being, and to foster  an appreciation of cultural diversity through cooking.  We help bridge cultural boundaries and strengthen our global family by teaching children about their similarities and differences in the warm  comfort of the kitchen: through the simple process of preparing and sharing a nutritious meal, children who participate in our programs learn to connect with their bodies, their neighbors, and their world  in bite-sized lessons.
