Grab your shipmates and get ready to explore innovation on the high seas as part of Miami Navy Week!

Join us as we celebrate Navy Day with the United States Navy on Friday, January 27. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a first-hand look at their latest technologies and speak with Navy divers, meteorologists, and sailors who serve on the Navy’s oldest commissioned ship, the USS Constitution. There will also be special performances by U.S. Navy Band Brass Quintet and the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard.

Throughout the day, ocean enthusiasts will be able to:

  •   Enjoy the beautiful and classic sound of the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quintet.
  • Discover the technology behind how the U.S. Navy gathers data on our oceans.
  • Be amazed at the precision and talent of the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Drill team.
  • ⚓️ Learn about how STEM played a role in the design of the USS Constitution back in the 1800s before trying your hand at knot tying.
  • Discover the amazing work that U.S. Navy Divers do every day and the science behind their dive equipment.

Normal admission rates apply. Navy Day programming is free with paid museum admission. Special programming will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Exploring Ocean Science with the U.S. Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command

STEM in the 1800s with the USS Constitution – 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Learn about how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) played a role in the design of the USS Constitution back in the 1800s before trying your hand at knot tying.

Mapping and Navigation with the U.S. Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command

Before a plane can take off, ships go to sea or a submarine dives below the waves, it starts with Naval Oceanography. Learn about how Navy Meteorologists map the ocean floor and help ships and aircraft safely navigate the high seas!
