Holiday Wines By The Glass

‘Tis the season to indulge in the most superior wines in Smith & Wollensky’s collection. In partnership with Coravin™ Wine Systems, the steakhouses feature a selection of special premium wines by the glass which are normally only available in bottle format. Now featured for the holidays, by the glass:

  • Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016– the flagship wine from Hall, this vintage was given 92 points by Wine Advocate. This full bodied California Cabernet holds layers of blackberry, black cherry, sweet spice, black pepper and oak, then giving way to flavors of cocoa, nutmeg and graphite. The tannins are chewy and powerful, balanced by acidity on the long finish.
  • Renato Ratti Marcenasco Barolo 2015– the 2015 is the 50th anniversary of this classic Barolo, and it’s an absolute master of the table. This garnet colored wine offers a bouquet of macerated cherry, licorice and tobacco. Full flavored, full bodied and elegant with fresh acidity on the finish, this wine pairs excellent with steak.
  • Orin Swift 8 Years In The Desert Zinfandel 2018– a new Zinfandel blend from the creator of The Prisoner. An opaque core with a red amethyst rim, the wine opens with ripe raspberry and blackberry, dark plum, black pepper and clove. An entry of heft, the palate is packed with blueberry and sweet black cherry along with touch of fresh herbs – thyme, savory and tarragon.
  • Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge 1er cru “Clos des Myglands” 2017- Faiveley is one of the largest vineyard owners in all of Burgundy, with their wines world renowned. This expression is both youthful and approachable for a novice Burgundy drinker. A tangy, succulent style, this red exhibits cherry, currant, spice and stony mineral aromas. Elegant and linear, extending on the fruit rich aftertaste.

Spread the love!
