Luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot today announced its participation in Art Basel Miami, in collaboration with international expressionist artist Domingo Zapata. Together, Hublot and Zapata will serve as host to an exclusive cocktail networking event at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 7, at the Hublot Bal Harbour Boutique located at 9700 Collins Ave, Suite 245. The boutique will showcase and display a brand-new storefront installation from Zapata’s Avion collection and five new pieces of his work to a crowd of Miami tastemakers, art aficionados and VIP guests. In addition, Zapata is creating a work that he will auction for a charity of choice during his series of presentations taking place during Art Week Miami.

The craftsmanship of Hublot timepieces, with their unusual lines, sharp angles, and uniquely-cut diamonds, lends itself naturally to a collaboration with an artist like Zapata, who is known for his abstract expressionist multimedia style and his incorporation of collage and graffiti. In fact, Hublot’s artful products and their “Art of Fusion” culture inspired his works that will be on display at the boutique. Both the artist and the brand produce masterpiece fusions of art and technology enjoyed by influencers, celebrities, and global icons. Hublot’s prized Black Caviar piece, valued at $1M, will be on display alongside Zapata’s pieces, reflecting the partnership’s deep synergy.

Zapata has lauded praise from international press such as Vanity Fair Italia, Ocean Drive, People, New York Magazine and, most recently, The New York Post in October proclaiming him the “new Andy Warhol, with starlets begging for a sitting.”
