CCI Performance Art Series: Beyond Representation

Join us at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for a powerful collective performance, Act of Valor, led by Curaçao artist Tirzo Martha and select Miami-based workshop participants. Through this presentation, they will share their visions for tackling today’s pressing challenges—climate change, war, forced displacement, racism, and more—while imagining a more secure and hopeful future.
Act of Valor is a part of PAMM’s Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) presentation of Beyond Representation, a research project and live art series that investigates a broad range of performance and performative practices by artists from the Caribbean or of Caribbean descent working in the region or its diasporas. This performance project features an intergenerational group of participants who employ the body or rely on bodily experience and live action to engage with the social, political, and cultural reality of their respective contexts.
