PROPEL (People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership), a youth program in Boca Raton and Catskill Haunts, producer of professional-level haunted houses since 1997, have teamed up to offer up a Halloween treat for Boca Raton’s youth and to help spread community awareness of PROPEL and what it does for our community. Students involved with PROPEL are also volunteering with the professional staff each night of Haunted House. This professional-caliber Haunted House runs for “13 Nights of Fright” October 4th – 27th, 2013 and is located at 331 East Yamato Road, Boca Raton. 100% of the proceeds will go back to the PROPEL organization.

Over 60 youth PROPEL volunteers, parents and professional make-up artists are making the Haunted House a scary but fun experience. The Catskill Haunts production team has created a thrilling air-conditioned 3,000 square-foot haunted house complete with zombies, ghosts and ghouls. Festivities outside of the Haunted House include a spooky graveyard, a family area for face-painting, pumpkin-carving, balloon art, bounce houses, food trucks and a Spadini’s Mizner Pizzeria booth selling pizza slices for a dollar.

“When I learned of an opportunity to help PROPEL we decided to do it here after nine years in upstate New York.” Said Armond Sabatini Co-Founder of Catskill Haunts, who learned about PROPEL from Chuck Marchitello, president of CJM Construction and a member of the PROPEL board since 2010 and who donated 55kw generators to run all the electric needed.

“We are grateful to partner with Catskill Haunts,” said PROPEL executive director. Nhu Nguyen. “Proceeds from this event will increase the amount of awarded scholarships for PROPEL students. We plan to make this an annual fundraising event.”

Admission is $15. The Haunted House site is just west of the Sound Advice building west of US 1 and runs October 4th – 27th 2013 from 6:00pm – 11:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For more information visit http://propelyourfuture.org/haunted-house or call the PROPEL office at 561-955-8553.
