Sweet Science! • February 20 (One-Day Camp)
Candy is the basic ingredient for these camp experiments. Make your own rock candy, test your engineering skills and find out what makes a more steady structure: candy hearts, candy corn, or gum drops? Test the solubility and discover candies that float!
Rainbows, Leprechauns and Pots of Gold! • March 17 (One-Day Camp)
Your mission for this camp: to build an effective leprechaun trap using a STEM kit. Will the pot of gold be safe on top of your designed tower? Make your own predictions about what colors of candy you will get and see who wins at “Guess the rainbow.” End the day by going on a scavenger hunt to look for “me pot o’ gold!”
Creature Power! • March 20-24 (Five-Day Camp)
Explore the new Wild Kratts: Creature Power! exhibit and create a rescue zipline to help the panther cub find its mom. Make your own Creature Power vest and test the speed of your penguin depending on how much food it is able to eat. Help make a home for butterflies in our Food Forest by planting native wildflowers then identify the different species that visit our garden.
