BurgerQ officially opened its doors to the public on March 17, 2016. Hungry, burger-loving foodies can now take a bite out of one of the many delectable items offered by the restaurant, that features locally sourced ingredients, and boasts a one-of-a kind “beer wall.”

On this past Wednesday, March 16th, the new eatery welcomed a unique list of guests, to a by-invitation opening which included media, city officials and celebrities. The event which was promoted as a “burgundy carpet” (matching the brand’s colors) was well attended with over 200 guests in tow.

Owner-operators, and (husband and wife) Gabriel and Maria Teresa Arguello, were all smiles as they were presented an Official Welcome plaque by Diana Rodriguez, on behalf of Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. In addition, Mary Scott Russell, president of Chamber South also presented the owners with a one-of-a kind piece of artwork on behalf of the chamber of commerce. On site to cut the ribbon during their opening ceremony was International recording artist Tito Puente Jr.

Guests were treated to a non-stop sampling of the BurgerQ items, as selections from the menu were passed around to please their palates. The “wow” factor for most was the interactive “beer wall”, where all guests were allowed to sample the 16 craft beers on tap. This unique, “self-serve” unit is the only one of its kind in the US. Patrons looked excited as they scanned their bar code-receipt, and tried an array of the local beers.

The menu at BurgerQ was designed to re-create the spirit of a traditional burger and barbeque spot; casual, welcoming, and appropriate for the entire family. Boasting Southern barbecue inspired dishes, including: grilled-to-order natural-grilled burgers, fresh salads, and handmade signature shakes, it doesn’t stop there. The sides are also fresh, and they have multiple homemade sauces you can drizzle on your dish. Needless to say, burgers, wings, and loaded fries are among the mouth-watering items now available.

“We are so appreciative for the welcome we have received by the city and local community. We deigned our space to be inviting, with “earthy” textures, open layout and kitchen, and retro-upscale décor. As owners, we are elated to share our “backyard BBQ” concept. We look forward to serving our local community and hope they appreciate what we have created,” stated Maria Teresa Arguello.
