BRAZIL TARGETS GLOBAL FOOD & BEVERAGE MARKETS AT 14th AMERICAS FOOD & BEVERAGE SHOW

Latin America’s largest economy and Miami’s number one trade partner, Brazil, to showcase export-ready food and beverage products at the hemisphere’s largest Americas-focused industry event—the Americas Food & Beverage Show

MIAMI- Brazil, Latin America’s largest economy and one of the world’s largest food exporters will host one of the largest international pavilions at the 14th Americas Food & Beverage Show, scheduled for October 26-27, 2010 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida.

Attendees at this year’s show will experience a rich array of “export-ready” Brazilian food and beverage items under the 28-booth “Brazilian Pavilion” banner.  Small to mid-sized Brazilian companies, intent on entering new markets, will showcase  traditional and exotic Brazilian products including organic sugar, organic ice cream, tropical fruit juices and jams, cheese bread, herbal teas, coffees, Brazilian wine and Cachaca, a unique spirit processed from sugar cane and one of the country’s most popular exports.

Exports and imports are fueling Brazil’s supercharged growth.  The nation’s economy is booming and expected to surge by 6.3 percent in 2010.  Currently, Brazil is the number one trading partner for Miami and the state of Florida, registering more than $12.6 billion in sales annually. With food and beverage products and the agro sector significant contributors to Brazil’s trade numbers, the country has become a food super power and a major player within the global marketplace.

As a nexus for hemispheric trade and a gateway to global markets, the Americas Food & Beverage Show is an important strategic partner for Brazil’s unilateral trade goals.  The event is the preeminent Americas-focused trade event for the food and beverage industry. Each year, the show attracts more than 300 international exhibitors and over 6,300 qualified buyers from the U.S., Europe, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Asia for two days of “face-to-face” networking, exhibitions, product sampling, workshops and business negotiations.

According to Charlotte Gallogly, president of the World Trade Center Miami, Brazil has been a key participant and partner since the show’s inception.  “Brazilian trade organizations work closely with us to bring their food and beverage producers to the show.  Once Brazilian companies are here, they connect with the distributors and buyers who can launch their products to the next level of enterprise.

“Doing business” is a singular goal for both Brazil and the Americas Food & Beverage Show.  Gallogly points out that the trade show is “all about doing business”, tallying more than $103.6 billion in documented sales for participants since it was launched in 1996.
