Captain Lee Rosbach, from the popular Bravo TV show Below Deck, and radio show hosts Steve O and Rene, will help judge the “Gumbo Rumble” at the third annual CrawDebauchery Food & Music Festival.

The festival is scheduled for April 2-3 at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater field, with the “Gumbo Rumble” slated for Sunday afternoon beginning at 12:30 p.m.

“We’re honored that Captain Lee as well as Steve O and Rene will be judges for the gumbo competition,” said festival organizer Don Matthews. “Captain Lee said he definitely loves his gumbo and Steve O actually lived in Louisiana for a bit, so he’s keenly aware of a good recipe. It should be a lot of fun having added this celebrity component to the rumble.”

A Fort Lauderdale resident, Captain Lee has been one of the featured cast members on Below Deck since the show’s inception. He’s been in the yachting industry for over 20 years.

The Steve O & Rene Morning Show debuted a year ago on 1230 WBZT-AM and it continues to draw listeners on a daily basis given the hosts’ broad menu of discussion items. The show can be heard throughout South Florida from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Featuring New Orleans crawfish and music, the festival has expanded to two days. In addition to a massive crawfish boil, food and art vendors, the event will feature top tier musicians over the two days to include the headliner – Galactic – on Saturday night.

In addition to Captain Lee and Steve O and Rene, famous master chefs will also judge the “Gumbo Rumble” entries to determine who has the best recipe in South Florida, which must contain okra and rice.

The entry price for the competition is $100 and each entrant must provide their own 10×10 tent as well as tables and chairs. The festival will provide space and power.

Competition prizes will include a customized trophy as well as free entry into the 2017 “Gumbo Rumble.” Additionally, there will be a prize for the best decorated tent.
