Bay Harbor Islands Infuses “Hip” with First Supper Club Lounge to Launch Fall 2010

A fixture in Bay Harbor Islands since 1994, Caffe Da Vinci will reopen in mid- November 2010 after 5-months of renovation to the 2,500-square-foot restaurant.  The interiors offer guests a duel-part-experience from dinner to lounge, while maintaining an old-world-feel that is complemented by contemporary culinary pep.  The re-launch inaugurates new ownership following a sales transaction in 2009 from the brands original proprietors.

The menu offers house made selections of contemporary Italian cuisine with influences of molecular gastronomy, a scientific discipline that studies the physical and chemical processes that occurs while cooking.  Seating an intimate crowd of 65 in the main dining room, reservations are suggested for those embarking on the neighborhoods newest culinary adventure.  Homemade risottos, pastas and ravioli dishes like Lobster Ravioli drizzled in a shrimp cream sauce ($19.99) are an expected staple, while more unique attractions include six scaloppini dishes each offered in veal or chicken options as well as filet prepared in two size selections of 8 ounce or 16 ounce respectively.

Executive Chef, Jose Cadavid, has perfected the signature dish of Rossini Filet Mignon made with pâté de foie gras and black truffle in a Barolo sauce. ($45.99 for 16oz/ $35.99 for 8oz). For the more adventurous palate, enjoy playful takes on the traditional including Mushroom Risotto Dueto, sautéed shallots, fresh porcini and shitake mushrooms with white wine sauce, parmesan cheese and cantaloupe caviar ($25.95); Carpaccio Dueto with Swordfish and Wagyu Kobe beef served; and an Italian favorite of Zuppa di Mare alla Cioppino with fresh mussels, shrimp, calamari and salmon in a spiced marinara sauce with Ciabatta bread ($27.99).

A late-night lounge will double as Bay Harbor’s first-ever supper club with a full-service bar, live entertainment and an eight selection small plate menu.  Warm earth tones will be scattered throughout with pewter finishes and brushed gold brick walls, red leather accented chairs, banquets and a floor to selling wine cellar.
