From May 1–5, Jacinta’s “Five Days of Fiesta” brings that story to the table – literally.
- The activation includes Sabores de Puebla, a special menu available all five days featuring enmoladas with pulled chicken or duck confit and a special almond mole from San Pedro; a chicken breast with a rich almond mole, diced dates and goat cheese; and chalupitas rooted in Pueblan tradition.
- Each evening at 5 p.m., the restaurant pauses for El Brindis (The Toast) to honor Puebla, the May 5th victory and the culinary traditions still alive in Jacinta’s kitchen. Guests are invited to raise a glass with a selection from the three featured margaritas: La Famosa (apple purée meets triple sec), Sandy’s (watermelon with a spiced salt rim) and Cilantro-Maracuyá (Cilantro, passion fruit, fresh lime and Cointreau).
- The May 5th festivities culminate with La Actuación: a live mariachi performance.
Every May, restaurants in the U.S. push discount margaritas and taco promotions in the name of Cinco de Mayo, but most miss the meaning of what the holiday commemorates. At Jacinta de México, Aventura’s authentic Mexican restaurant known for honoring centuries-old traditions, the holiday is celebrated with intention.

“Cinco de Mayo is one of the most commercialized – and least understood – holidays on the restaurant calendar,” said Lalo Durazo, DZO Hospitality CEO and creator of Jacinta de México. “We are not here to run a gimmick. We are here to tell the real story – through the food, the toasts, and the traditions that have lived in Mexican homes for generations. That is what Jacinta was built for.”
Guests can also experience the Tortilla Tasting Experience, five handcrafted nixtamalized corn tortillas for $5, served with avocado, sea salt and salsa, and presented tableside with the story of Jacinta’s 4,000-year-old tortilla-making tradition.
For those seeking more than a margarita special, Jacinta offers what the holiday often lacks: the real story – told through food, community and culinary traditions that have endured for centuries.
Jacinta de México is located at Aventura Mall near the Bloomingdale’s entrance at 19501 Biscayne Blvd. Reservations are available on OpenTable. For more information, visit jacintarest
