Aspen Ideas Miami Beach Panel Discussion

Discuss Climate and Housing

As the effects of climate change become increasingly evident in Miami-Dade County, the pressing need for solutions to housing challenges has come to the forefront. To address this issue, a panel discussion will be held on Thursday, October 26th, in Miami Beach, inviting community members and experts to engage in an important conversation about climate impacts and housing resilience.

Hosted by local organizations committed to sustainable development, the panel aims to shed light on the unique housing challenges faced by Miami Beach and its surrounding areas. Rising sea levels, increased storm intensity, and other climate-related factors have disrupted housing markets, making it essential to explore innovative ways to ensure access to safe and affordable housing for residents.

The discussion will also focus on amplifying resilient building approaches, exploring decarbonization strategies, and identifying other holistic solutions that can mitigate the effects of climate change on the housing sector. Expert speakers from various backgrounds, including government officials, climate scientists, architects, and community leaders, will share their knowledge and insights to foster a productive dialogue.

The precise details of the panel, including location and confirmed speakers, will be announced.

This conversation will be a preview of the third annual Aspen Ideas: Climate which will return to Miami Beach on March 11-13.  For more information, visit: www.aspenideasclimate.org.
