On Thursday August 19th, 2010, Ashley Walker will host a private VIP event, “An Evening of Couture, Cocktails & Cause” at The Viceroy Water Lounge in Miami. All proceeds from the event will benefit Ashley Walker’s Mission of Love Foundation.
The evening will include a runway show by top Miami designer, Craig Signer. Attendees will also have the opportunity to contribute to Ashley’s nonprofit Foundation through the silent and live auction. Miami’s elite, pro athletes, and celebrities will be treated to signature cocktails and entertainment, in support of a great cause.
Through her Mission of Love Foundation, Ashley Walker will travel to Kenya September 11-17 in conjunction with Feed The Children and provide meals for a year, as well as shoes and socks for 500 students in Nairobi.
Walker, a mother of two and former teacher, planned the trip to fulfill her lifelong goal of helping children in underserved countries. “I am hoping that my Mission of Love not only makes a difference for the children of Kenya,” says Walker, “but brings awareness to the plight of these children and inspires others to help.”

About Ashley Walker: The New Orleans native and graduate of the University of New Orleans accepted a position as a 5th grade teacher right after college and found it was her passion to mold young minds. As an ardent volunteer, Ashley has lent her time and financial support behind various causes including the Ronald McDonald House, The Boys and Girls Clubs, and Casa de Esperanza Niños (House of Hope for the Children), a non profit that provides residential, medical and psychological care for children in crisis due to abuse, neglect or HIV/Aids. In addition to her organization’s efforts in Kenya, Ashley is working on a component to empower young girls.
