ARTWORK OF THE 2011 INCOMING GRADUATE STUDENTS

The Art and Art History Department at UM, presents the work of incoming Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduate students running from August 23rd to September 16th at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Gallery located at the Wesley Foundation at 1210 Stanford Drive, Coral Gables.  In celebration of the exhibition’s opening, there will be a reception for the artists on Friday, August 26th from 5 – 9 PM. Other viewing times can be arranged by appointment. 

The new students are Leah Brown (sculpture) from Florida, Sean Black  (photography) from Florida, Carolyn Chema  (photography) from Italy, Cynthia Fleischmann (photography) from Florida, Eddy Lopez (printmaking) from Nicaragua, Gerardo Olhovich-Perez (painting) from Mexico, and Colin Sherrell (sculpture) from Florida.

The MFA program is a 60 credit, three year program resulting in a terminal degree that both prepares students to enter the professional, studio art world and qualifies them for college teaching.  Entrance in to the program is highly competitive with applicants coming from across the country and internationally as well.
