Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is proud to present Future Stars of the Ballet at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Future Stars of the Ballet 2011More than 80 young, talented dancers will take the stage of the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, July 29, to flaunt the skills they acquired while participating in the Summer Intensive Program of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.

After a four week long dance training program (with a focus in ballet) taught by the world’s best ballet teachers, these dedicated young dancers will present excerpts of the Classical Ballet “Raymonda” showcasing the most significant variations and adagios of this challenging piece, which also includes Character dances.

“Raymonda” is a love story of a young girl named Raymonda. She is betrothed to a man named Jean de Brienne; despite Raymonda’s plan to marry, a man named Adberman is persistent in his efforts to court her. So persistent in fact, that Adberman and his accomplices attempt to abduct her. Luckily, Jean de Brienne shows up in time to stop the abduction. These actions result in a duel to the death. After the duel, there is a feast full of joyous dancing at the castle, in celebration of the united lovers and their marriage.

The ballet teachers instructing these dancers are Yulia Kasenkova (current soloist of the  Mariinsky Theater and faculty member of  the Vaganova Ballet Academy, formerly known as the Kirov), Lisa Maltzeva (formerly with the Mariinsky Theater and also a graduate from the Vaganova Ballet Academy and currently a soloist of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida), Lyubov Issaeva (of the Voronezh Choreographic School), Olga Mekhonoshina (formerly with the Perm Ballet School and current Ballet Mistress of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida), and Artistic Director, Vladimir Issaev.

In addition to the ballet program, these future stars of the ballet will present a program of Flamenco and Modern Dances. These dance styles are taught, too, by the world’s superior artists in their respective departments. Jorge Robledo (professional flamenco dancer), Diego Salterini and Christiane Silva (of Dance Now Ensemble), and Jelena Radojevic (resident ballet and pilates instructor) complete the staff that trains these students in their specialties with the upmost professionalism.

This international melting pot of committed dancers have spent the past month perfecting their technique, if you appreciate the fine arts this is not a performance you want to miss!

The performance is open to the public, Friday July 29, at 7:00 pm at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center located at 3385 NE 188th Street Aventura, FL 33180. Tickets: $15.00 available at www.aventuracenter.org
