Remus Bourbon Celebrates National Bourbon Heritage Month with Repeal Reserve Series X and Its First-Ever Rye Whiskey
Premier Guide Miami ·
This National Bourbon Heritage Month, Remus Bourbon is raising the bar — literally. The Prohibition Era-inspired brand has announced two landmark releases: Remus Repeal Reserve Series X, a 10th anniversary edition of its celebrated annual series and the highest-proof Repeal Reserve to date, and Remus Repeal Reserve Rye Whiskey, the brand's first-ever straight rye. Both expressions are available at select retailers nationwide beginning this September, while supplies last, at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
Series X is bottled at 107 proof and features a blend of three mash bills — the historic LBSV, LESV, and the rarely seen LISV recipe, used here for the first time. Expertly blended by Master Distiller Ian Stirsman, it draws from multiple batches aged between 2008 and 2017. On the nose: French oak layered with vanilla, tobacco, and dark chocolate. The palate unfolds with almond croissant and vanilla alongside balanced oak and a subtle pistachio richness. The finish is smooth and indulgent, carrying English toffee and candied almond.
The companion release, Remus Repeal Reserve Rye Whiskey, is bottled at 111 proof and comprised of 2015 and 2016 reserves of Remus' signature 95% rye mash bill. The nose reveals butterscotch, caramel, French oak, and cardamom; the palate delivers mint, star anise, toffee, and fennel; and the finish closes with candy-coated fennel seed — a distinctive, spice-forward profile that showcases a different dimension of the distillery's craft.
“Series X captures everything the Repeal Reserve collection has stood for over the last ten years, pushing the boundaries of what a blended bourbon can be while honoring the history behind it. And with our first-ever rye, we get to show a different side of our expertise. We’re proud to share both releases as a true reflection of our craft.”
Crafted at the historic Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana — using naturally limestone-filtered water from the Great Miami Aquifer — Remus Bourbon has built its reputation on smooth, complex, high-rye expressions that honor the legacy of George Remus, the legendary "King of the Bootleggers."
