Plum Market Aventura is running a four-part series called The Art of Hosting a Dinner Party — one hour, 6 to 7pm, each session focused on a different element of entertaining at home. The format is hands-on and practical: you learn something, you make something, you take something home.
November 4 is winter floral design: Plum Market's floral team guides guests through stem care, proportion, focal blooms, fillers, and greenery. You leave with a seasonal arrangement in a Plum Market Mason jar and tips for extending the life of your centerpiece. November 18 is holiday wine pairing: a guided tasting of four wines paired with four bites, covering acidity, tannins, sweetness, and body, along with serving temperatures, quantities for a gathering, and how to open a bottle correctly. You leave with a printed pairing guide and a Plum Market wine key.
Why This Is the Right Format
The Art of Hosting a Dinner Party series is useful in a way that most event programming is not. It is not a tasting where you drink and leave. It is not a class where you watch a demonstration. It is a series of one-hour sessions that each produce a tangible skill and a tangible object — a centerpiece, a pairing guide, a wine key. The Aventura location makes it accessible to the northern end of the market that most Miami dining guides ignore.
Plum Market Aventura is at Aventura Mall. RSVP required for each session. The series continues through the holiday season.

The Most Interesting Dining Neighborhood in Miami Isn't Where You Think
Sunny's Steakhouse is the most-reviewed restaurant in Miami on Resy. It's in Little River. So is a Michelin-recognized half-Colombian half-Vietnamese kitchen, a Filipino fine dining room with a 5.0 rating, and a Persian-French bistro with 14,000 square feet of wood-fire ambition. The neighborhood story is already written.
Hakkasan's Wine Cellar Counter Is the Most Interesting Seat in Miami Right Now
Hakkasan Miami runs three wine tasting tiers on select Saturdays — The Classic at 3pm, The Reserve at 4pm, and The Grand Cru at 5pm in the restaurant's secluded wine cellar. The Grand Cru includes vintage champagne, five rare wines, Wagyu A5, and caviar. It is the most ambitious wine experience at a Miami Beach restaurant.
The Most Honest Dining Guide in Miami Is a Crowd-Sourced List Nobody Talks About
Resy's Top Rated list for Miami is crowd-sourced, unsponsored, and more useful than most dining guides in the city. The most-reviewed restaurant is a Little River steakhouse. The highest-rated new entry is a South Miami wood-fired pizza spot with 82 reviews. The neighborhoods it points to are not the neighborhoods most guides point to.
