The Opera Atelier Brings Intimate Classical Music to Miami with a Season of Salons and Recitals
The Opera Atelier operates out of a 970 SW 1st Street studio in Miami — and the intimacy of that space is exactly the point. This is opera and classical music the way it was meant to be heard: up close.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
The Opera Atelier is one of Miami's most distinctive classical music organizations — a chamber-scale company that presents opera, recitals, and theatrical concerts in intimate settings that put the audience close enough to feel the music.
The season opens November 24th with Among Friends: Piano and Voice, an intimate recital at Sala Santa Cecilia where bass Jorge Arcila and pianist Daniel Daroca celebrate friendship through music. The program weaves operatic arias, classical piano works, and lyrical selections in a warm evening honoring artistry and companionship. Tickets are free.
Later in the season, A Night in Paris with Chopin and Malibran recreates the atmosphere of 1830s Paris — when salons welcomed Chopin, Thalberg, Malibran, and Rossini — through a theatrical reenactment of a soiree at Countess Merlin's salon. The program is based on historical sources with musical and literary selections, written by Music Director Daniel Daroca.
Other season highlights include The 8 Seasons (Vivaldi's Four Seasons fused with Piazzolla's Las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas), Old Folks at Home (a violin and piano recital exploring the immigrant experience of nostalgia), and Memory Machines / Maquinas del Recuerdo at Coral Gables Congregational Church. The Opera Atelier is located at 970 SW 1st Street, Suite 408, Miami, FL 33130. Visit theoperaatelier.org.
