Netflix's "72 Hours" Brings Kevin Hart and Marcello Hernández to Miami-Dade

Netflix's comedy 72 Hours, starring Kevin Hart and Saturday Night Live comedian Marcello Hernández, brought a major production to Miami-Dade County, using some of the region's most recognizable locations as the backdrop for the film. Directed by Tim Story, the movie follows a 40-year-old executive who unexpectedly joins a bachelor party in Miami, leading to a wild 72-hour adventure filled with comedy, chaos, and unexpected friendships.
The production showcased Miami-Dade County's beaches, parks, and urban settings while employing hundreds of cast and crew members throughout filming. One of the largest single shooting days took place at Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne, where approximately 180 cast and crew members filmed between Lifeguard Towers 9 and 12. Additional scenes were captured at Virginia Key Beach, featuring water sequences supported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, and at Hobie Island (North Side), where the production framed scenic views of Biscayne Bay and the Downtown Miami skyline.
The production also filmed a traffic-controlled scene along South Miami Avenue between SE 11th Street and SE 12th Street, adding another distinctive Miami backdrop to the film. In Miami Beach, the crew utilized several recognizable locations, including the iconic Lincoln Road Garage and areas along 17th Street. Filming activity extended through key Miami Beach corridors — Meridian Avenue, Washington Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, and Alton Road — highlighting the city's distinctive architecture, urban streetscapes, and vibrant atmosphere.
The project was made possible through the collaboration of the Miami-Dade County Film Office, Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Beyond its cinematic footprint, 72 Hours generated significant economic activity by supporting local businesses, production vendors, public safety personnel, and South Florida film professionals — further reinforcing Miami-Dade County's reputation as one of the nation's premier destinations for film and television production.
