After a seven-year absence, NASCAR Championship Weekend is coming back to South Florida. Homestead-Miami Speedway will host all three national series championships on Nov. 6–8, 2026 — the first time since 2019 that the sport's season finale returns to the track that defined the championship era for nearly two decades.
The weekend opens Friday, Nov. 6 with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship at 7:30 PM, followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5:00 PM. The marquee event — the NASCAR Cup Series Championship — closes out the weekend Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3:00 PM.
Homestead hosted the NASCAR Cup Series finale every year from 2002 through 2019, producing some of the sport's most dramatic championship moments. The track's 1.5-mile oval and South Florida setting made it a fan favorite, and the return brings that history back into play for a new generation of drivers and a sport that looks considerably different than it did in 2019.
NASCAR is moving to a rotating championship model going forward — similar to how major sports leagues move their marquee events between marquee venues. Phoenix Raceway, which hosted the finale from 2020 through 2025, will remain part of the rotation and will continue hosting a prominent Round of 8 playoff race.
Three active Cup Series champions have won at Homestead before: Kyle Busch (2015, 2019), Brad Keselowski (2012), and Joey Logano (2018). All three will be in the field with something to prove on a track where they've already stood in victory lane.
Camping, hospitality packages, and travel bundles are also available through the speedway. For South Florida fans who remember the championship era, this is the reunion they've been waiting for.
