DOXA SUB 300 Beta "Frogger": Belmont Watches Debuts Its First Limited Edition with a Fully Sandblasted First

San Diego-based Belmont Watches has unveiled its first limited edition timepiece: the DOXA SUB 300 Beta "Frogger," and it comes with a notable distinction. According to DOXA, it is the first watch in the brand's history to feature a fully sandblasted stainless steel case and matching beads-of-rice bracelet. Limited to 100 individually numbered pieces, the Frogger is available exclusively through Belmont Watches for $2,890.

The watch is rooted in Belmont's hometown. Its name refers to the Navy frogmen and Underwater Demolition Teams that preceded today's SEAL Teams — specifically SEAL Team ONE, which was established in 1962 at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. That connection made Coronado the geographic center of a design built around San Diego, diving, and the quiet utility of early maritime equipment. The caseback carries an engraved map of San Diego Bay centered on Coronado — no official military insignia, just geography telling the story.

The design was shaped by private conceptual feedback from active-duty and retired members of the Naval Special Warfare and Navy EOD communities. Their input influenced every detail: the nonreflective sandblasted finish, the matte kelp-green dial with applied black indices and warm-toned vintage lume, the three oversized orange luminous hands, the black ceramic dual-scale bezel with an orange elapsed-time scale and green depth scale, and the sandblasted hardware throughout. At their request, none are identified by name or unit.

Built on the slimmer SUB 300 Beta case, the Frogger measures 42.5 × 44.5 mm and just 11.95 mm thick, with 300 meters of water resistance. A flat sapphire crystal sits above the dial. The movement is a non-COSC Swiss automatic, 25 jewels, 28,800 vph, with a 38-hour power reserve. Each piece ships on the fully sandblasted beads-of-rice bracelet with a folding clasp and ratcheting wetsuit extension, plus a color-matched kelp-green NATO strap with sandblasted hardware and a kelp-green travel case with equipment-style stencil markings.

A portion of proceeds from every Frogger sold benefits the Navy SEAL Foundation, a 4-star Charity Navigator-rated nonprofit that has received a perfect score since 2014. The NSF directs 94 cents of every donated dollar to programs supporting the warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Warfare.
