ART MIAMI + CONTEXT ART MIAMI CONCLUDE A DYNAMIC 2023 EDITION

In a remarkable showcase of contemporary and modern art, Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miami brought together collectors, art world luminaries, and international galleries for their 33rd and 11th editions, respectively. The fairs, which took place from December 5th to 10th, reported an impressive number of high-value sales and attracted a prestigious array of attendees.

The VIP Preview on December 5th marked the commencement of the fairs, with Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) as the exclusive beneficiary for the 12th consecutive year. Art Miami donated over $350,000 to support PAMM’s mission and collection. Among the VIP attendees were PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, renowned curator Jessica Goldman Srebnick, esteemed collectors Steve Wynn, Ted Fields, Janet Goldman, Joyce Varvatos, Kim Heirston, and Stephanie Sayfie Aargaard. The guest list also included notable figures like actor and producer Pierce Brosnan, record producer Kevin Rudolf, artists Ron English, RISK, Gino Miles, and David Yarrow, as well as business moguls Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary.

More than 240 exhibitors from 31 countries displayed artwork by over 900 artists, offering a diverse range of styles and perspectives. The fairs highlighted the works of women artists, those from Latin America (LATAM) and the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, as well as pieces that address pressing global issues such as human rights and war. A special tribute was also paid to the late Botero, with a selection of his iconic artworks on display.

Throughout the week, sales in the five-, six-, and seven-figure range were consistently reported, indicating the strong demand for exceptional pieces. Noteworthy transactions included works by renowned artists such as Fernando Botero, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Angeles Agrela, Tom Wesselmann, Ernie Barnes, Johnny Depp, Alex Katz, Jeff Koons, Willem de Kooning, Duncan McCormick, David Yarrow, Pablo Atchugarry, Francis Hines, Federico Uribe, and Paul Nicklen.
