This year’s theme is “Art Deco Worldwide,” and our annual roster of free talks and programming features Wolfsonian curator Lea Nickless and two guest speakers, who will delve into different facets of the Art Deco style and its cultural influence around the world. 11am–12pm | The Father of Chinese Art Deco Architecture
Architect Liu Jipiao’s granddaughter, Jennifer Wong, discusses his work as designer and educator, spanning from Paris to China, and ultimately America.

1–2pm | Dancing in the Age of Deco
Historian Walter Nelson uses images and film from the 1920s and ’30s to capture the lost world of social dancing, which regularly happened almost anywhere people gathered.

3–4pm | Maps and the Selling of the Sunshine State
Wolfsonian curator Lea Nickless examines maps and graphic strategies as agents for the promotion of Florida as destination for sunshine, leisure, investment, and industry.
