DawnTown, the annual architecture ideas competition, is one of the highlight events during Art Basel, drawing the eyes of the international design world and telling the exciting urban story of Downtown Miami. This year’s competition sought creative architectural ideas for a new station for the Metromover, Miami’s elevated public transportation system, located off Biscayne Boulevard on the corner of Museum Park. On Friday, Dec. 4, the winning designs for “Dawntown: d3Metromover 2009” will be announced at the Marquis tower, the latest debut from world-renowned architecture firm Arquitectonica. Guests are invited to enjoy a breakfast ceremony alongside DawnTown creator Andrew Frey, founder of West 8 and designer of Governor’s Island in NYC Adriaan Geuze, Marquis’ internationally-acclaimed architect Bernardo Fort Brescia and supporters such as former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and art collector Ella Cisneros.

Jury Members include:

Harpal Kapoor, director of Miami-Dade Transit
