Pitch your idea through April 10

What’s happening in your neighborhood? The Block, presented by Oolite Arts, is offering Miami filmmakers and storytellers up to $14,000 to create a short documentary about it.Whether you’re an experienced filmmaker or just a beginner, we want to hear the Miami stories you think are ready for the spotlight.

Five filmmakers will be selected to pitch their short documentary concepts in front of a jury and a live studio audience for a chance to win funding for their projects. The winners will have access to the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving ImageArchive.

The top three award recipients also will get help making their films from the University of Miami School of Communication’s Department of Cinema and Interactive Media. Pitch your idea through April 10 at oolitearts.org/theblock. This program is generously sponsored byThe Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Family Foundation.
