Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza to OPEN jULY 15 in west kendall

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (ACFP), the South Florida-based concept that uses authentic coal-burning ovens to create “well done pizza,” opened its fifth Miami-Dade County restaurant this past Saturday at 12502 West Kendall Drive.  The location is a one-half mile west of the Turnpike.

ACFP launched in 2002 and already has grown to 23 restaurants throughout South and Central Florida and the Northeast.  Expansion plans include additional locations in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania later this year.

Known for its high energy atmosphere and signature menu items, ACFP uses 800-degree anthracite coal-burning ovens and the highest quality ingredients.  Anthracite is known to be the ‘cleanest’ of coals, burning smoke free with extremely high heat.  Its simple and consistent menu features award-winning coal-oven-roasted chicken wings topped with grilled onions, signature Italian-style salad and other Italian specialties. Anthony’s Kendall location also offers a full bar.

Founded by Anthony Bruno, ACFP’s partners include Hall of Fame football legend Dan Marino.

“We’ve been eyeing this West Kendall location for quite some time and are excited to bring our unique and authentic pizza experience to those who live and work in the area,” Bruno said. “We’ve had tremendous response from our recent opening in Miami Lakes and expect similar success in West Kendall.”

Hours of operation are from 11:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  In addition to dining in, patrons have the option of take out by calling (305) 273-8020.

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza’s food and service have continually been ranked “very good to excellent” by Zagat Survey, the distinguished dining and entertainment ratings guide and is the only South Florida pizza restaurant to be included in Zagat’s 2008 Top Restaurant Guide. Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza was recently voted Best Pizza by The Miami Herald and the www.Miami.com “The Best of South Florida Survey.” The company also was named one of the “Next Big Chains” by AOL and was ranked among the top 25 “Fastest-Growing Companies by Percentage” in South Florida Business Journal’s 2009 Book of Lists.
