ANNUAL AUTISM WALK & SAFETY FAIR SET FOR APRIL 20TH IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Family,

The South Florida Autism Charter School (SFACS) and The South Florida Autism Center (SFAC) are hosting their annual Autism Walk & Safety Fair on April 20th from 10 AM to 1 PM. The event, benefiting Friends of South Florida Autism, brings together the SFACS community to raise funds for the new Autism Center and future Villages programs supporting individuals with Autism in South Florida. Dr. Tamara Moodie, Principal and SFACS co-founder, expresses enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing the commitment to inclusivity and safety.

The Hialeah Police Department will lead the walk, demonstrating support from Mayor Bovo and the city of Hialeah. Mayor Bovo will participate in the Walk, engaging with attendees and promoting Autism programs in the community. The event will feature games, bounce houses, food, and special appearances, including Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Jose Dotres and other notable guests.

Additionally, the South Florida Safety Fair will offer interactive experiences with police, fire, ambulance, and medical safety officials, alongside informational vendors. The school is also organizing a “Shoes for Autism” shoe drive to support families in need globally.

All proceeds raised at this year’s event will be going to the Friends of South Florida Autism, which provides support to the South Florida Autism Charter School, The South Florida Autism Center and the future Villages of South Florida Autism.
