This evening features a crowd-pleasing program headlined by Platinum-selling jazz trumpeter CHRIS BOTTI, who earned a Grammy Award this year for “Best Pop Instrumental Album” for his recording Impressions.Throughout his storied career, BOTTI has created a series of recordings that have made him a virtual genre-of-one in the realm of contemporary jazz while at the same time capturing the attention of the pop music world. The charismatic performer made his initial splash on the pop music scene during his stint with Paul Simon’s band, and later achieved international notoriety as a featured soloist on Sting’s Brand New Day world tour. Since then, BOTTI has thoroughly established himself as one of the important, innovative figures of the contemporary music world, playing to packed houses worldwide and selling more than three million albums. The star trumpeter has found a form of creative expression that begins in jazz and expands beyond the limits of any single genre, and he has earned both critical acclaim and mainstream appreciation for a succession of bestselling albums.
